Terms of Service
Effective date: 26 May 2026
These terms explain how you may use SportsBracket. By using the website or any of its features, you agree to these terms.
Using SportsBracket
- SportsBracket provides tournament planning tools including the bracket estimator, bracket creation and management, self-registration for participants, event checklists, the events hub, organization management, planning guides and rules summaries.
- You may use the website for lawful tournament planning, education, comparison of bracket systems and internal event preparation.
- If you use the self-registration feature, you are the organiser and data controller for participant registrations submitted through your event links. You are responsible for informing participants about how their data is used and for complying with applicable data protection law.
- You are responsible for verifying final competition rules, event bulletins and local federation requirements before running an event.
Estimator and rules summaries
- The estimator is designed to be accurate, but it is still a planning tool. Real-world events can change because of withdrawals, walkovers, no-shows, local organizer decisions and official rule changes.
- Rules summaries are short planning aids, not complete rulebooks. Official federation, national body and event documents remain the authoritative sources.
- If you find a mismatch in a sport, ruleset or bracket format, contact us so we can verify and correct the model.
Accounts
- You must create an account to use bracket creation, sharing and other saved features. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- The Free plan allows bracket creation for up to 16 participants. Pro and Club plans unlock higher limits and additional features as described on the pricing page.
- We may add, change or remove features over time. Material changes to paid plan entitlements will be communicated in advance.
Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis — monthly or annually depending on the option you select at checkout. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period.
- Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing you agree to Stripe's terms of service at stripe.com/legal. We do not store your card details.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through the account page. Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
- If a payment fails, access to paid features may be restricted after a grace period. We will notify you by email. You can update your payment method through the account page.
- We may change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price increase takes effect.
Acceptable use
- Do not use SportsBracket to break the law, infringe rights, attack the service, scrape aggressively, bypass limits, distribute malware or interfere with other users.
- Do not upload or submit content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, privacy-invasive or owned by someone else without permission.
- We may restrict access, remove content or suspend accounts if the service is misused.
Content and ownership
- SportsBracket owns the website, product design, software, estimator logic, brand elements and documentation we create.
- You keep ownership of event data, bracket data, organization names, logos and other content you provide, subject to any rights needed for us to operate the service.
- Do not copy, resell or reverse engineer SportsBracket in a way that violates law or these terms.
Ads, referrals and third-party services
- SportsBracket may show advertising, sponsored placements and referral links to anonymous or free users.
- Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. This includes advertising, analytics, hosting, payment, email and external official rule sources.
- We are not responsible for third-party websites or offers once you leave SportsBracket.
Availability and changes
- We may change, improve, pause or discontinue parts of the website or product as SportsBracket develops.
- We aim to keep the service useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- We may update these terms. Material updates will be reflected by changing the effective date and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice.
Limitation of liability
- SportsBracket is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the extent permitted by law.
- We are not liable for tournament scheduling decisions, official rule interpretations, event delays, lost revenue, indirect losses or decisions made only from estimator output.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
